NMLS Practice (“App”) is provided by Michael Scott (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We respect your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1) What We Collect

• Study data you generate (e.g., practice question attempts, saved/missed questions, topic progress, flashcard usage, quiz and timed exam results). These are stored on your device by default.
• Optional account data (only if you create an account): name, email, and hashed identifiers.
• Purchase data for in-app purchases or subscriptions is processed by Apple. We receive non-financial purchase receipts or identifiers to unlock premium features.
• Diagnostics (app crashes, performance data) to improve reliability.
• Analytics (optional): anonymized usage events to understand which features are being used. If available, you can disable analytics in the App’s settings.

2) How We Use Data

• Provide core study features (practice questions, explanations, flashcards, review tools, timed exams).
• Save your progress and personalize review (e.g., missed question sets and weak-area practice).
• Process and validate purchases and subscriptions.
• Improve the App, fix bugs, and prevent misuse.
• Respond to support requests and send service-related emails (account or receipt notices) and, with consent, product updates. You may opt out at any time.

3) Data Storage & Retention

By default, your study data is stored locally on your device. If you enable platform backup or sync features (such as iCloud), your data may also be stored with that provider under your account and device settings. We retain account information (if any) while your account is active and as required by law. You may delete study history within the App (if available) and/or request deletion as described below.

4) Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Service providers that help operate the App (such as analytics, diagnostics, or email delivery), under confidentiality agreements.
• Apple for processing in-app purchases and subscriptions.
• Law enforcement or regulators if required by applicable law.

5) Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

6) Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please keep your device and passcodes secure.

7) Your Rights

Depending on your location (for example, under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal data, and to opt out of analytics or marketing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

8) International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards and approved transfer mechanisms.

9) Account & Data Deletion

• If the App supports accounts: You may delete your account via Settings > Account > Delete Account. This permanently removes personal data we control, subject to legal retention requirements.
• If the App does not use accounts: You may clear local study data using any in-app reset option (if available) or by uninstalling the App. You may also contact us to request deletion of any server-side data (such as support emails or purchase metadata).

10) Third-Party Links

The App may link to external websites or resources. Those third parties have their own privacy practices, which we encourage you to review.

11) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated within the App or by email if you have an account.
